Version 0.2.0


The new 0.2.0 update is here!

This version was made to mainly improve the general gameplay, add new content and overhaul the battle sequences to be more fun and engaging!
Here is a list of the changes made in this update:

WARNING: this update uses a different save file, so you might need to re-configure your controls and settings.

General Changes

-Added 2 new blood effects for enemies and players (can be toggled on or off in the options)
-Added new item boxes that can contain either an item or an ally!
-Added new sound effects created by Hakurou! Those include: Credit Inserted / Let's GO! / Item Collected / Special Item Collected / Ronberti-78 Moving / Argo-V Missile Launch / Hurry Up! / Ally Score Add/Multiplier
-The combo is now uncapped and can go way beyond 99, though the bonus multiplier will still be clamped at 99
-A player's highest combo achieved during a play session is now saved on the Scoreboards along with their name and score
-Completely changed the Rescued Taggers screen: now the allies rescued by a player jump into view and celebrate their victory!
-New extra score bonuses are awarded to the players if they complete certain challenges in a Stage
-Updated the in-game fonts to look more unique and slightly italic-like
-Added an in-game stopwatch for speedrunners (can be toggled on or off in the options)
-Added the option to pause the music if the game is paused
-Changed the shading of the Vigilantis's helmets in the intro to look a bit better
-Updated and improved the entire collision system
-Slightly decreased the sensitivity of the up and down stick controls for gamepads

Player Changes

-Players can now jump down pass-through platforms by pressing Down + Jump! Though watch out for pits...
-Redesigned the oxytank: now when hitting an enemy, the tank's valve breaks off and the leaking oxygen forces it to conveniently fly towards the nearest next enemy! It can heatseek 5 times in a row human enemies, and 3 times in a row mechanized enemies
-Slightly tweaked the gravity of the players to give them more weight and better control in the air
-The turning and crouching animations are now sped up if the players are currently attacking or landing after a jump
-The airborne back attacks are now faster and easier to perform
-Increased the velocity of the thrown bricks accessible in the boss fight
-Various small improvements to the creation of projectiles (i.e. spears and oxytanks)

Ally Changes

-Greatly increased the size and range of the Spray Kids's clouds of spray
-Spray Kids can now throw their spray cans further and more precisely at enemies
-Spray Kids will now only throw their spray cans at enemies that are behind and facing away from the player they follow
-Increased the allies's gravity for faster and more precise platforming
-Improved the allies's pathfinding be more precise and quick
-Allies can also jump down platforms if their player is vertically too far from them
-Some items collected by the allies can give more or less points to the players (i.e. ice cream gives them more points, while coffee gives them almost nothing)
-The Spray Kid that is currently following a player will now be the one to bring brick boxes to aid the player during the boss fight!

Enemy Changes

-Slightly redesigned the Vigilanti soldiers to look more accurate to their concept art
-Vigilanti soldiers can now also jump down platforms to better track the player(s)!
-Airborne and prone soldiers can now also be hit and stunned by clouds of spray from Spray Kids allies
-The Ronberti-78 (the tank fought inside the castle) can now only fire 16 missiles and spawn 6 soldiers
-The destroyed body of the Ronberti-78 is now solid and can be used as a platform
-The 2 Argo-V planes now make a quick cameo after the bar event
-The Ta Mapello boss now launches a third mine in its first phase if the game's STRESS is set at 6 or higher
-The phase 2 rockets of the Ta Mapello boss have been slightly sped up to increase the difficulty

Stage 1 Changes

-The color palette of the stage has been slightly changed to be more sunny
-Most battle events have been overhauled to be more unique, fun to play and less repetitive!
-Vigilanti-only battle events can now be skipped if the player(s) keeps moving forward
-Added some sparrows roaming around the stage
-Added new small destructible obstacles at the destroyed castle area
-Updated the castle crawlspace to better show where the exits are
-Added a new downward path near the end of the stage that leads to the boss area
-A new secret item spot has been added and some of the older ones have been either slightly changed or removed
