Winter Update!


Happy Holidays!

Here is the latest v0.3.0 of Aqua Ippan, aka the Winter Update!
It's been a while since the last major update, and I wanted to make something for 2024 (although perhaps a little too late haha). So me and Hakurou have been working on a brand new minigame where you play as the Spray Kids trying to save the divers!
Along with that new mode, here are all the other changes made for this update:

WARNING: this update uses a different save file, so you might need to re-configure your controls and settings.

General Changes

-The entire soundtrack, composed by Hakurou, has been entirely remade with the original uncompressed instrument samples used in Metal Slug: SV-001 and Neo Turf Masters!
These samples come from various workstations and sample libraries we acquired legally, and due to the higher-quality-sounding instruments, the OST now has more of a Neo Geo CD vibe to it!
-The entire 'How to Play' screen has been reworked to make it way more player-friendly and actually tell them which key does what!
-Added a new 'Game Selection' menu letting the players choose between Stage 1 and the new minigame.
-A previous bug related to the 'Select' button of Dinput gamepads not being detected has been fixed.

Player Changes

-Input buffering has been added!
-The jump height of the players now changes depending on how long the key jump is held!
-The combo system has been made more generous: the players can now miss 2 shots before it resets.
-The firing animations have been updated to reflect the fact that the spear guns are only single-fire.

Ally Changes

-The allies' enemy detection has been improved: they will auto-detect if an enemy has already been sprayed or not before spraying or throwing a can.

Enemy Changes

-Added a hit sound for when the enemies get hit.
-The Ta Mappello's HP has been slightly lowered.
